Christmas Cookies

Christmas is all about baking and making the house smell delicious! I do love gingerbread men but I love this cookie recipe so much more! It is the BEST cookie recipe ever and it’s so fun to decorate them.

These cookies are such a treat for everyone and they can be wrapped up and given as cute gifts.

This recipe makes the most delicious chocolate chip cookies…simply decorated them with sugar decorations to make them extra festive! Baking cookies and decorating is such a fun kitchen activity!

you will need:
150g salted butter, softened
80g light brown muscovado sugar
80g granulated sugar
2 tsp vanilla extract
1 large egg
225g plain flour
½ tsp bicarbonate of soda
¼ tsp salt
200g plain chocolate chips

-Heat the oven to 190C/fan170C and line two baking sheets with non-stick baking paper.
-Put softened salted butter, light brown muscovado sugar and granulated sugar into a bowl and beat until creamy. Beat in vanilla extract and the egg.
-Sift plain flour, bicarb of soda and salt into the bowl and mix it in with a wooden spoon.
-Add chocolate chips and stir well.
-Use a teaspoon to make small scoops of the mixture, spacing them well apart on the baking trays. This mixture should make about 30 cookies.
– Bake for 8–10 mins and decorate!
